Tourism Cares for New York City

March 22,2013 - IATAN is excited to announce that Tourism Cares is headed to New York City for the Tourism Cares for New York City give back program on May 30 & 31. Tourism Cares and hundreds of your travel industry colleagues will be headed to Coney Island and Jamaica Bay to help these important tourist icons that were affected by Hurricane Sandy last fall. You are invited to help make a difference in New York City.

As a volunteer, you can participate in an effort at Coney Island to paint playground benches, light posts, water fountains, help in beach clean-up or at Jamaica Bay, Queens; you will participate in dune preservation and beach clean-up projects at Fort Tilden Beach.   As a part of this program, special grants will also be awarded to selected tourism related sites that have suffered losses attributed to Hurricane Sandy.

Whether you have been to all, a few, or plan on making New York City your first give back event, you’ll have an experience of a lifetime. Tourism Cares volunteer programs are all about rolling up your sleeves and getting your hands dirty for a great cause and making valuable contacts and friends along the way.

If you can’t make it because of other commitments, please consider other ways you can help.  Become a sponsor, encourage your friends to participate, send others from your company, or put your logo on the official t-shirt or towel.
