IATAN Freezes its Fees and Improves Overall Services

September 15, 2008 - IATAN is pleased to announce that, for the 10th consecutive year, it will not be increasing any of its fees and will continue to improve the services attached to the ID Card Program such as AgentExperience and CheckACode.

As importantly, understanding that time is money, IATAN improved its services and now, all ID Card transactions can easily be completed using IATAN OnLine Services. Realizing that many owners purchase cards for their staff, we expanded functionality and now they or their designated person can do this on line as well as make changes to their registered personnel.

This saves time in filling in forms, eliminate postage costs and it quickens the turnaround time on all requests.

IATAN is working proactively to increase the integrity and efficiency of the globally accepted card, and to ensure that the industry stops wasting money, time and energy on people claiming illegitimate recognition.

In this context, effective immediately, the two-year option is abandoned, leaving the IATA/IATAN ID Card Program with a validity period of one year only. This mandate was given by travel professionals frustrated by individuals abusing their program and suppliers who cannot afford to lose revenue through undeserved industry concessions.

IATAN is vigilant about the use or abuse of the IATA number, its logo's and registered trademarks. Over 100 businesses have been contacted in the past 2 months and are being followed up and if necessary action will be taken to either terminate our relationship with the business or take appropriate legal action. IATAN urges its customers to refamiliarize themselves with the IATAN accreditation requirements
